Englewood Cliffs, NJ 2024 —Soupy (Subha-Orn) Rathanamongkolmas, Vice President South Asia for Universal Pictures International will receive the “Distributor of the Year” Award at the CineAsia Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 12 December 2024 at the Millennium Hilton in Bangkok.
“For over 30 years, Ms. Rathanamongkolmas has established herself as a leader in the media and entertainment industry. We cannot think of a more deserving recipient for this year’s award,” stated the President of Film Expo Group, Andrew Sunshine.
Soupy (Subha-Orn) Rathanamongkolmas is thr Universal Pictures International Vice President for South Asia. She is no stranger to, and actually a long-time family member of the film industry in Asia. With close to 3 decades in the Hollywood movie business, she started in1998 as Sales Manager of UIP Thailand. Soupy continued to take on various responsibilities across many lines of businesses and now has one of the most robust profiles in the industry including consumer products, live performances, home entertainment and media distribution. She has also worked closely with all studios including Sony Pictures Releasing International, Warner Bros. Discovery and local partners across the region. Prior to joining Universal three years ago, she built the Disney integrated business in Thailand while holding a regional role in Theatrical Sales and Distribution for the Southeast Asia region. And no matter which business she was leading or which country she was working in and out of, she never let go of the movie business and always held a professional remit and personal love for movies.
Soupy is a true believer in creating consumer experiences and building partnerships. She is known for her innovation and passion which is still as strong today as ever. She is an advocate for fostering the next generation and continues her role outside the industry as a guest lecturer and guest speaker at various institutions.
